Who are we? We are a group of people who have come together for the further benefit
of East Hendred and visitors to the village, to organise event/ entertainment
and to try to raise money as support for charities, groups, societies and
residents of the area. The main focus
is on entertainment and fun for all ages in and around East Hendred.
Each year we will distribute half of our profits by way of Grant. Anyone can apply for a grant, but we do make
some restrictions: each application
must be for a specific project and applications must be made in writing by 31st
January annually. You can only make one
application each year, not all applications will be successful and the
committee’s decision is final, unsuccessful applicants can apply again in following
years. After the grants are made the remaining
half of profits, surpluses or interests earned during the year will be invested
in a ‘long-term’ deposit account to form an Endowment. The Endowment is primarily for interest
bearing earning potential, but may, at the discretion of the Management
Committee, be used by EHE for the long-term benefit of EHE or East Hendred. Thrift Shop We currently run a Thrift Shop on Friday afternoons between
1pm – 4pm, we sell clothes, bric-a-brac, books & small items of furniture,
we also gratefully receive donations of the same please call Val on 01235
833973 for delivery/collection We also sell locally made jams & preserves. Come and join our friendly group, pick up a bargain or just enjoy a cup of tea, slice of homemade cake & a chat with friends.
We aim to organise 8-10 events per year, which include Bingo, Dances or Discos and now the Springline Villages Festival – watch out for our posters! Other info We are keen to
invite new members to join our committee, we meet approximately 4 times a year;
maybe you have ideas or an interest but are not keen on committees – well
