The Hendreds Pre-school is situated in East Hendred, meeting in our own purpose built premises at Snells Hall. We aim to provide a pre-school facility for three and four year olds in the local area that is safe, secure and stimulating. We operate a 6-term year open from Mondays to Fridays in the mornings. |

The Hendreds Pre-school currently has a core staff of four with a number of bank staff that we can call upon when needed. The staff all have a great deal of experience with children and are headed up by the joint supervisors Tracy Taylor and Sarah Cousins who are passionate about their role in helping children reach their potential, gain self-confidence and become more independent. The curriculum follows national guidelines and divides learning and development into six broad areas:

Keyworker System: Children are allocated a keyworker who works with parents and helps the children to reach their full potential. Session Times: From September, the pre-school is open from 9:00am - 12:00 noon Monday to Friday. In the spring/summer terms if numbers permit we split age groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays with three year olds attending in the morning (from 9:00am - 11:30am) and four year olds in the afternoon (from 12:45pm - 3:15pm), which includes the older children bringing a packed lunch and eating together as a group. Funding: Once your child turns three, he or she is entitled to attend pre-school for up to 5 sessions per week free of charge. Funding is applied for on your behalf from the Local Authority in September, January and April. Please contact the Membership Secretary for further information. Management of the Hendreds Pre-School: The Hendreds Pre-school is a community group with charitable status and has a volunteer committee made up of parents who undertake all aspects of management. Parents are welcome to attend any of the committee meetings and to join the committee. The Hendreds Pre-school is affiliated to the Pre-school Learning Alliance, which is a national educational charity and has been approved by Ofsted and Oxfordshire County Council.
