The Hendreds Pre-School meets in purpose-built premises at Snells Hall in East Hendred and provides a safe environment in which children from aged two can thrive and progress.

The staff ratio of one adult to three two year olds and one adult to six children over 3 years old helps to ensure that we meet the individual needs of your child. The staff are highly qualified and experienced; both the manager and her deputy are Level 6 and the other staff members are qualified to Level 3. The manager also holds Early Years Professional Status. All members of staff have up to date First Aid certificates and are regularly trained in Child Protection matters.

The pre-school works in accordance with the newly revised Early Years Foundation Stage and so ensures that the children gain the skills that they need in order to be ready for school.

During their time at our pre-school children will be involved in many visits to the local park, village shop, churches and the immediate area to discover the many wonders that nature and the community offer. They will also be encouraged to take part in plenty of activities using musical instruments as part of the first phase of Letters and Sounds.

The pre-school is building strong links with the local primary schools and visits them several times a year. Moving to one of the two local schools becomes a very gentle step when the children know so many classmates already and have already met their class teacher and visited the school.

Key Person System: Each child is allocated a key person who will be your main link with the pre-school and form a supportive relationship with your child to help them settle in and gain the confidence to try activities and socialise with others.

Session Times: From September 2012 the pre-school is open as follows:

Mon 9.00 - 12.00pm
Tues 9.00 – 12pm and 12.00 - 3.00pm. Children may attend all day
Wed 9.00 – 12pm and 12.00 - 3.00pm. Children may attend all day
