East Hendred Heritage Trust are running a photographic competition for
2010. Entries are to be a series of 4 photographs taken around East
Hendred throughout 2010. Entries to be submitted in January 2011 with
an
exhibition of entries and announcement of winner in February 2011.

Penney Memorial Lectures

Rupert Rowbotham will speak about vineyards in South Africa.

Palm Sunday Procession
Sunday 28th March 2010 at 10:30am
Our traditional Palm Sunday procession through the village.
Meet in front of Hendred House to collect your palm cross,
then we process to St Augustine's to share the first part
of the Sunday service with the congregation of St Mary's.

Good Friday Walk
Friday 2nd April
A walk through the Benefice of Wantage Downs, visiting all four churches
in the
course of the day. Come for as much or as little as you can manage.

2:00pm Meditation and Veneration of the Cross, St Augustine's, East

EHE Easter Eggstravaganza
Snells Hall, Saturday 3rd April at 2.00pm.
Egg rolling competition---eggs must be bought from us (25p)---so, no
cheating.
Decorate an egg competition: painted, bejewelled, a scene, or a person
in the village.
Also an Easter Bonnet competition,
book stall, videos, LPs for sale.
Tea and coffee will be served.
St. Augustine's Annual Parish Meeting
Sunday 25th April, in church after the morning service (about 11:30am)
Everyone is invited to attend this meeting to hear reports from the
past year and discuss plans for the next. Refreshments available.

Gift Day
Saturday 22nd May at 2:00pm at St Augustines, East Hendred
On the Saturday closest to our patronal festival,
we invite all parishioners to visit their Parish Church
and contribute to the considerable cost of its upkeep.
Cream teas, trips up the tower, bell ringing, children's trail through the
church.
Come and support your local church!
June 2010
Summer Fete
A traditional English Garden Fete in the beautiful gardens of
Cowdray's, Cat Street [to be confirmed]. Tea and cakes,
stalls and games for all the family.

Stop Press - A Ritzy Tea
A taste of the highlife will be arriving in East Hendred
in the form of an old fashioned High Tea with a
selection of finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream,
a variety of cakes and a choice of Indian and China Tea.
Organised by the Hendreds Women’s Institute the tea will be
available 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Snell’s Hall on
Sunday, 6th June at a cost of £5.00 per person.
Why not work up an appetite with a stroll around the village
by starting and ending at the hall –
tour maps will be available at Snells Hall on the afternoon.

and tickets will be available on the day.
